System Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary

The System Maintenance Engineer maintains, monitors, and supports integrated systems across multiple Singapore sites. This role includes routine system patching, troubleshooting faults, supporting firmware updates, and collaborating with customers and OEMs during system projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine system patching for endpoints to ensure system security and stability
• Support firmware patching for network devices such as switches, firewalls, and GPS modules by coordinating with OEMs
• Collect and analyze system logs regularly to detect anomalies or potential issues
• Assist the cybersecurity team by executing assigned cybersecurity-related tasks to enhance system protection
• Troubleshoot system faults and failures promptly to restore normal operations
• Liaise with customers and system OEMs to support system implementation and upgrade projects
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers during operational support and project activities
• Manage tasks independently across multiple sites within Singapore, ensuring timely completion
• Work safely at heights up to approximately 40 metres on staircase towers to access antennas and subsystems for maintenance or troubleshooting
• Participate willingly in a 24/7 rotational standby schedule to provide continuous system support
• Demonstrate willingness to learn new tools and processes to improve job performance

Required competencies and certifications

• Foundational knowledge of Windows operating systems including installation, patching, and user/service management
• Basic understanding of network infrastructure components such as switches, firewalls, and IP networking concepts
• Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools including ping, tracert, and ipconfig/ifconfig
• Physical fitness and ability to work safely at heights up to 40 metres
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple site tasks across Singapore
• Good communication skills to engage customers professionally

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems
