Technical Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager

On behalf of our client, a leading international engineering and technology company serving the electrical power industry, we are recruiting for a Technical Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager to drive its industrial sector growth across Asia.

About the Role

Acting as the primary business driver for the industrial sector in the Asia region, you will build and expand relationships with complex clients, working closely with the Regional and International Sales and Application Teams, Regional and International Managers, and Product Management to drive profitable growth across the sector. You will also help shape and execute segment strategies, market plans, and brand awareness initiatives in close collaboration with the Business Development Manager for the industrial sector.

What You'll Do

• Participate in business development, market evaluation, sales forecasting, and monitoring of customers and leads within the assigned sector and territory.

• Identify, develop, and manage sales opportunities for testing, monitoring, diagnostic, and maintenance solutions related to electrical assets in industrial environments.

• Develop, maintain, and improve relationships with key accounts (owners, operators, EPCs, contractors, etc.) in the industrial sector, including project specification, direct and indirect sales development, and multi-level relationship management.

• Manage the prompt and accurate quotation process together with the Sales Support team.• Coordinate promotional activities including conferences, user meetings, seminars, local exhibitions, on-site demonstrations, and post-sale customer training and service.

• Coordinate the use of Regional Application Specialists for technical expertise and expert-level sales presentations.

• Define and implement key activities to increase brand awareness within the sector.

• Manage and record all sales activity in the CRM system per the company's sales process.

• Collaborate routinely with Area Sales Managers on competitive information, product issues, market trends, and customer perception of the company's products and services.

• Recommend new products, service markets, and process improvements.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Developer – Industry.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Minimum 10 years of experience with knowledge of power generation, transmission, distribution, utilities, heavy industry, electrical asset management, or related industrial electrical applications.

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a technical sales engineer, sales engineer, application sales, business development, or technical account management professional.

• Strong experience selling or technically positioning testing equipment, diagnostic solutions, monitoring systems, instrumentation, electrical apparatus, or services for industrial electrical assets.

• Proven record of achieving revenue and product sales targets.

• Background and knowledge of the industrial sector and market, with a proven track record of developing sales in the sector.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex technical data.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; self-driven with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently.

• Fluency in English required; Mandarin proficiency is a plus given the client base in the region
