*URGENT* Mechanical Technician (North, Shift Work, up to $3.3K) - HWX

We are seeking skilled Technicians / CNC Technicians to support the manufacturing and finishing of high-precision optical components. The successful candidate will be involved in optical polishing, CNC/MRF machine operations, metrology inspections, process optimization, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance activities within a clean manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and set up optical polishing and CNC/MRF equipment to manufacture precision optical components.
• Perform machine setup, tool preparation, slurry preparation, pad conditioning, and process optimization.
• Load, unload, center, and process optical components on manufacturing equipment.
• Conduct in-process inspections and measurements using metrology equipment such as interferometers, profilometers, Talysurf, Luphoscan, ASI, and other optical measurement systems.
• Monitor and improve surface quality, form accuracy, radius, PV, RMS values, concentricity, wedge, and other critical specifications.
• Troubleshoot polishing defects and implement corrective actions to achieve required quality standards.
• Perform cleaning, lacquering, cementing, de-cementing, and handling of optical components following cleanliness and scratch/dig standards.
• Document process data, inspection results, deviations, and equipment observations accurately.
• Carry out routine housekeeping, preventive maintenance, calibration, and machine upkeep activities.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations, PPE requirements, quality systems, and 5S standards.
• Support engineers and senior technicians in process validation, equipment troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• min. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Optics, or related technical disciplines.
• Experience in precision manufacturing, CNC machining, optical polishing, optics manufacturing, or related industries is preferred.
• Knowledge of optical inspection techniques and metrology equipment will be advantageous.
• Able to work in a manufacturing environment and handle chemicals in accordance with safety requirements.
• Self-motivated team player with good communication skills.
• Willing to perform shift work and overtime when required.
