Piping Engineer

Job summary
Delivers pipe stress and other miscellaneous calculations efficiently and effectively Manages multiple tasks independently and in a multi-disciplinary team Utilizes CAESAR II software and company proprietary Microsoft Excel spreadsheets

Responsibilities
• Provide necessary sketches and guidance to piping designers or drafting team • Verify that Piping requirements are reflected in the design • Assist in preparation of datasheets and checking of piping material take off • Assist in design reviews and participate in other discipline reviews if required • Ensure incorporation of all Piping-related review comments • Detailed review of drawings for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracy and adherence to company standards • Comply with engineering procedures and standards • Provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement • Identify potential applications for new processes and technologies to improve productivity and efficiency • Ensure effective communication and interface between all disciplines for design and development • Participate in internal audits and investigations • Establish and maintain effective working relationships internally • Engage with inter-discipline community and promote networking and knowledge sharing
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering specialization from an accredited university • 5+ years professional engineering in the related field • AutoCAD, Caesar II & Navisworks familiarity • Excellent technical communication (oral and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams and project engineering teams • Self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions to assigned projects • Possess strong inter-personal and communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels
