Software Developer

Join our innovative team working with cutting-edge Contactless Smart Card technology. Your primary challenge will be to lead the evolution of Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) equipment, including bus fare collection devices and rail fare collection gates. You will be responsible for the requirements gathering, design, development, and enhancement of public transport e-payment devices. Additionally, you will support the rollout and deployment of AFC software in production environments, ensuring the highest standards of functionality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Development: Gather requirements, design, develop, implement, test, and maintain software for bus and rail fare collection devices.
• Issue Management Investigate and resolve issues to improve individual AFC devices and the overall AFC system.
• System Support: Maintain, deploy, and support production fare system software.
• Continuous Improvement: Enhance AFC device software using predictive analytics.
• Incident Response: Monitor and respond to incidents, providing timely support and input to product teams.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful software rollouts and deployments.

Qualifications:

Education: Degree in Electrical/ Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years in embedded software development and support.
• Proficiency in object-oriented software development using C/C++/Java on Windows, QNX, Unix, or Linux platforms.
• Experience in web application development using Java and the Spring framework, with database interfacing via JDBC and SQL.
• Familiarity with object-oriented design and UML modelling.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of Windows Server and PowerShell scripting.
• Incident Management and ITIL process experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Data analytics and data visualization skills (preferred).
• Familiarity with technologies such as JSON, Angular, JSP, JavaScript, and HTML (added advantage).

Soft Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Resourceful and self-motivated team player.
