Job Description - Workshop Manager

Job Description:

As the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities within our workshop. You will work closely with the Service Manager to ensure seamless operations and maintain the highest standards of service quality.

Responsibilities:

Workshop Coordination:

Oversee daily operations in the workshop, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.

Coordinate with the Service Manager to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of projects.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock of required materials and equipment.

Team Management:

Lead and supervise workshop staff, including technicians, mechanics, and support personnel.

Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.

Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Quality Assurance:

Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all work meets industry standards and customer expectations.

Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Safety Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies within the workshop.

Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among workshop staff.

Customer Relations:

Liaise with customers to understand their requirements and address any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.

Maintain strong relationships with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.

Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the marine or engineering industry.

Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a team.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge of marine diesel engines and related components is advantageous.

Familiarity with health and safety regulations and quality management systems.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
