We are looking for a passionate, responsible, and service-minded individual to join our team as an Event Officer.
This role is suitable for someone who enjoys organising meaningful programmes, working with people, and contributing to the temple’s mission of promoting Buddhist learning, community care, volunteerism, and youth development.
The ideal candidate is a team player who is willing to serve wholeheartedly, work harmoniously with colleagues and volunteers, and support temple activities with sincerity, flexibility, and care.
Key Responsibilities
Programme and Event Coordination
Support the planning and smooth delivery of courses, talks, volunteer activities, youth programmes, and community events.
Prepare event logistics, including room setup, audio-visual equipment, training materials, attendance lists, and certificates.
Work closely with colleagues and volunteers to ensure that programmes are organised professionally and warmly.
Volunteer and Participant Support
Coordinate volunteers and provide them with clear instructions and support.
Build positive relationships with volunteers, trainers, participants, and partner organisations.
Respond to enquiries and assist participants with course registration.
Maintain accurate participant records and update the department’s database.
Marketing and Outreach
Assist in promoting Buddhism-related courses and temple activities.
Work with the Graphic Designer and IT team to produce attractive publicity materials.
Update publicity channels, including Facebook, posters, email campaigns, and partner networks.
Explore new digital and community outreach channels to increase awareness and participation.
Review programmes with trainers and the team to identify ways to improve attendance and engagement.
Administration and Operations
Track programme income and expenses.
Gather participant feedback and prepare reports for management.
Liaise with cleaning contractors and the Facilities Department to ensure programme spaces are well maintained.
Support temple-wide events, special projects, and other duties when required.
Requirements
Minimum Diploma qualification.
Good working knowledge of English and Chinese.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Comfortable using technology and willing to learn new systems.
Good communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Able to manage multiple tasks and follow through on responsibilities.
Willing to work on weekends and public holidays when temple programmes are held.
