Senior Art Director (events)

Our client are a creative and experiential agency with a focus on B2B clients and they are looking for a Senior Art Director/Studio lead to run the design team and the workflow/traffic in the studio in their Singapore team. 

This leadership role requires a strategic mindset alongside hands-on design expertise, particularly with a strong foundation in 3D and 2D design.

Position Summary

As the Senior Art Director, you will be responsible for guiding the design direction and operational efficiency of the design studio. You will lead the team, cultivate a collaborative environment, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality design outputs. Your leadership will be crucial in aligning creative objectives with business goals while managing resources and project traffic effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a diverse team of designers, fostering creativity, professional growth, and collaboration.
• Oversee the allocation and management of project workloads to maximise team efficiency and maintain smooth workflow.
• Establish and maintain high design standards, ensuring all work reflects innovative visual storytelling.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, priorities, and timelines.
• Develop strategies to improve creative processes, resource utilisation, and team productivity.
• Serve as a key advisor for creative solutions, balancing client needs with design innovation.
• Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring deadlines and quality targets are consistently met
• Promote a positive studio culture focused on excellence, respect, and continuous learning.
• Where required, at times this role may need hands on support with design.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 8 years of experience in design roles with increasing responsibility, including prior leadership experience in managing a design team.
• Experience within an events/experiential agency environment is essential for the role, even if not currently in that space.
• Strong background in 3D design complemented by proficiency in 2D design tools and techniques.
• Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects and workflows within a busy environment.
• Strong organisational skills, capable of balancing strategic leadership with detailed operational management.
• Proficient with design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, Acrobat, and other relevant platforms.
• Strong communication skills across visual, verbal, and written formats.
• Ability to build and nurture client relationships, understanding their vision while maintaining creative integrity.
• High attention to detail coupled with a strategic, solution-oriented approach.
• Confidence, adaptability, and a proactive mindset are essential.
