Job Summary

The Assistant Cook supports meal preparation and cooking under the Head Cook or Chef while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen that meets food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals following instructions from the Head Cook or Chef to meet quality and safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen to comply with food safety regulations
• Apply food hygiene practices consistently during food preparation and cooking
• Collaborate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations
• Stand for extended periods and safely lift moderate weights to support kitchen activities

Required competencies and certifications

• Basic knowledge of food preparation and hygiene practices

• Minimum 4 years of experience working in a kitchen or food service environment
