As the Commis Cook, you will have an excellent opportunity to work under the guidance of senior chefs to prepare and cook food, ensuring high-quality standards are met. Your responsibilities will include food preparation, support for cooking stations and ensuring high quality standards. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, demonstrate attention to detail, and maintain a strong work ethic.
What will you do?
Assist in the preparation and cooking of food according to the restaurant’s menu and standards.
Ensure that ingredients are properly prepared, measured, and organized for use during service.
Follow recipes and presentation guidelines to ensure consistent quality and appearance of dishes.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and report shortages to senior chefs or restaurant manager.
Assist with food plating and presentation during busy service periods.
Help with cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly.
Ensure that all food is stored properly, labeling and dating products when necessary.
Support the kitchen team during service by completing prep work, assisting with dishes, and performing other tasks as needed.
Maintain personal hygiene and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Participate in training and development to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
Who we look for?
Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred, but not required.
Happy to go the extra mile to make someone's day.
Positive attitude, with a passion for providing excellent customer service.
Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
Takes initiative and ownership of your responsibility.
Candidates with Food Safety Certification is a plus.
