Job Description - Cook

Located in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore at Killiney Road, Bread, Beer and Brez’n (BB&B) is an authentic beer garden celebrated for its extensive selection of premium German beers, breads, wines, and culinary specialties. As we expand our operations, we are seeking friendly, motivated, and ambitious professionals to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Culinary & Menu Development: Assist in designing and developing the menu, carefully balancing seasonality, customer preferences, and food costs.
  • Food Preparation & Quality Control: Prepare dishes to exacting standards, ensuring strict adherence to recipes and consistent output. Taste and inspect outgoing dishes to guarantee they meet the restaurant's standards for flavor, presentation, and portion size.
  • Kitchen Operations: Manage kitchen workflow and coordinate preparation times to ensure prompt service. Execute thorough mise en place prior to daily service and uphold a highly organized workspace.
  • Inventory & Cost Management: Assist with the procurement of kitchen supplies, monitor inventory levels, and ensure the adequate stocking of fresh ingredients. Collaborate with management to develop budgets, monitor food costs, and implement cost-control measures without compromising quality.
  • Hygiene & Safety Compliance: Strictly enforce proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices. Monitor food storage and handling procedures to ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with the LMI office to ensure smooth operations, promptly addressing customer feedback and resolving any emerging operational issues.
  • Guest Experience & Front-of-House Duties: Interact with and serve guests when required to elevate their dining experience. Process payments accurately and proficiently operate POS tablets and related applications.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve daily operational challenges decisively and efficiently.

  • Operational Efficiency: Excellent time-management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility: Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as operational needs dictate.
  • Experience: Prior experience in food preparation and cooking is highly preferred, though motivated candidates eager to learn are also encouraged to apply.
