The Role

We are looking for a skilled Cook (Chinese Cuisine) to join our kitchen team at our Dempsey outlet. The ideal candidate is proficient in wok cooking — an essential technique for preparing many of our signature Chinese dishes — and has a solid grounding in traditional Chinese culinary methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Chinese cuisine dishes to the restaurant's quality and consistency standards, with strong command of wok techniques (wok hei, stir-frying, flash-frying, etc.)
• Assist in menu execution under the guidance of the Executive Chef and kitchen leadership
• Maintain mise en place, food preparation, and station organisation
• Ensure proper food handling, hygiene, and safety standards are upheld at all times
• Manage inventory and stock rotation for assigned kitchen station
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak hours
• Uphold cleanliness and orderliness of kitchen equipment and work areas

Requirements

• Prior experience as a cook in a Chinese restaurant or tze-char establishment strongly preferred
• Proficient in wok cooking techniques
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Team player with a strong sense of responsibility and hygiene practices
• Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as needed
