The Food Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations, performance and service standards of multiple food outlets within the assigned region. The role requires a hands-on manager who can support outlet teams, maintain food quality and hygiene standards, control operating costs and ensure that business targets are achieved.
The position may require working in non-air-conditioned food preparation and outlet environments.
Oversee the daily operations and performance of all assigned food outlets.
Ensure consistent food quality, portion control, presentation and customer service standards across outlets.
Supervise and support outlet managers, chefs and operational staff.
Assist outlet teams with cooking, food preparation and kitchen operations when necessary.
Monitor food preparation activities, including cutting, steaming, frying and handling of raw materials such as vegetables and chicken.
Conduct regular outlet visits and operational inspections.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace safety and company procedures.
Monitor the cleanliness and maintenance of refrigerators, freezers, cooking areas, exhaust hoods, drainage systems and other kitchen equipment.
Manage staff scheduling, manpower allocation, attendance and operational coverage across outlets.
Arrange manpower support when employees are on medical leave, annual leave or emergency absence.
Monitor outlet sales, food costs, labour costs, wastage, inventory levels and profitability.
Implement cost-control measures and reduce food wastage, stock losses and operational inefficiencies.
Review cashiering procedures, cash handling, loss prevention and stock control.
Handle customer feedback, service recovery and operational complaints.
Train, coach and evaluate outlet managers and operational employees.
Support recruitment, onboarding and performance management of outlet staff.
Coordinate promotional activities, menu implementation and new product launches.
Prepare operational reports and provide regular updates to senior management.
Identify operational issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure all outlets comply with company policies, licensing requirements and regulatory standards.
Be hands-on and actively involved in outlet operations when required.
Perform other ad hoc duties assigned by management.
Relevant experience in managing multiple food outlets, coffee shops, food courts or F&B operations.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, food hygiene and outlet management.
Experience in supervising outlet managers, chefs and operational staff.
Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Able to work effectively with employees from different backgrounds.
Able to analyse outlet sales, costs, manpower requirements and operational performance.
Willing to work on weekends and public holidays when operationally required.
Willing to work split shifts or extended hours when necessary.
Able to respond to urgent manpower or operational issues at short notice.
Comfortable working in non-air-conditioned kitchen and outlet environments.
Willing to travel regularly between assigned outlets.
Able to perform hands-on operational duties when necessary.
