Job Description:
The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring consistent food quality, managing kitchen staff, maintaining food safety standards, controlling food costs, and supporting the overall success of 11 Westside.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day kitchen operations.
* Lead, train, and supervise the kitchen team.
* Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet company standards.
* Develop and maintain recipes and menu items in collaboration with management.
* Monitor food cost, inventory, and purchasing, and minimize wastage.
* Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety, and SFA regulations.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
* Coordinate with front-of-house to ensure smooth service.
* Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues.
* Support profitability through effective kitchen management.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of culinary experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
* Experience in Mexican cuisine is preferred.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Knowledge of food costing, inventory control, and food safety standards.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and public holidays.
* Culinary qualification and Food Safety certification are an advantage.
