You will greet guests with a smile and ensure they feel valued from the moment they walk in. As a Host/Hostess, you’re not just making guests feel at home – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

As the Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

•    To perform all opening and closing duties
•    To answer the telephones according to Conrad Hotel standards and have a full understanding of the restaurant operation
•    To ensure that reservations are handled in a friendlyand professional manner
•    Take personal responsibility for the service experience of all guests in your designated area
•    Accommodate any guest request or offer appropriate alternatives.
•    Create and record guest database (details, preferences, profile, feedback, etc) in the system 
•    To ensure all communication are efficiently made in regard to enquiries, groups or daily reservations.
•    Confidently know the food and beverage menu contents and explain them in detail to guests.
•    Understand dietary requirements and offer appropriate suggestions.
•    Make suggestions on the menu that might suit guests of different nationalities.
•    Familiarize with menu items of all other outlets to recommend guests to other outlets.
•    Ensure that restaurant (including hostess area) is clean and tidy, ready for guests to enter the restaurant.
•    To organize the menus for each service and ensure they are cleaned and in good condition
•    Smile and greet all guests as they enter and exit the restaurant
•    Offer the newspapers/Magazine to any single diners.
•    Escort guests to a table and seat the guests (offer assistance with coats, bags, etc. if any)
•    To present menus and wine lists, offer initial drinks if any.
•    Ensure that all service procedures are carried out to the standards required.
•    Follow-up on any guest questions or queries immediately, and if you don’t have the answer, check with your managers.
•    To bid “farewell” to guests, ensuring guest satisfaction has been reached and to encourage repeat guests.
•    To effectively handle guest complaints and report to a manager of situation and resolution.
•    Report any accidents / incidents to the Managers.
•    Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by managers

In addition, this role requires the following minimum qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to support guest service and workplace communication.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin to support guests who communicate primarily in Mandarin, where required for operational needs.
  • Relevant experience in a hostess, guest relations, or customer-facing role within a food and beverage or hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and continuously develop new skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to adapt to changing operational requirements and perform assigned duties in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Good attention to detail and an understanding of food and beverage service standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to achieving team goals.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, based on operational requirements.
