Job Description - KITCHEN ASSISTANT

  • Prep Work: Wash, peel, chop, and slice fruits, vegetables, meat, and poultry.
  • Station Setup: Measure and weigh ingredients, and set up or break down workstations before and after shifts.
  • Simple Cooking: Assist the cook with making stocks, sauces, or simple dishes.
  • Dishwashing: Wash pots, pans, utensils, and serving ware using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Surface Sanitization: Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, kitchen walls, and work surfaces in accordance with health codes.
  • Waste Management: Safely dispose of kitchen garbage, separate recycling, and wash garbage bins.

    • Equipment Cleaning: Keep large equipment like grills, ovens, and mixers clean and maintained
    Deliveries: Unload, unpack, and organize fresh food and supply deliveries in storerooms, refrigerators, and freezers.

    Stock Rotation: Practice the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method, checking for expired or spoiled goods.

    Tracking: Notify the head chef or manager when inventory levels run low.
