Pastry Cook (Restaurant)

Job Description

Looking for an experienced Pastry Cook (Restaurant) to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of desserts, pastries and baked goods while ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake cakes, pastries, breads, cookies and desserts according to company recipes.
• Produce daily mise en place and ensure sufficient stock for restaurant operations.
• Decorate and present desserts to maintain consistent quality and appearance.
• Monitor ingredient quality, freshness and inventory levels.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pastry kitchen in compliance with SFA food safety standards.
• Operate and maintain pastry equipment safely.
• Assist in developing seasonal desserts and new pastry products.
• Minimise food wastage and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to support daily operations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 years of relevant experience as a Pastry Cook, Baker or similar role.
• Knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques and dessert presentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Able to work on weekends and public holidays.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
