The Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for maintaining the factory’s food-safety and quality-management systems. The role ensures that chicken and poultry products comply with company standards, customer specifications and applicable regulatory requirements.
Develop, implement and maintain food-safety and quality procedures.
Maintain HACCP, GMP, sanitation, traceability and other quality-management programmes.
Review quality records, production documents and monitoring results.
Verify that critical control points and operational controls are properly monitored.
Conduct internal audits of production, storage, hygiene and documentation practices.
Ensure raw materials, finished products and packaging meet approved specifications.
Review microbiological, chemical and product-testing results.
Investigate customer complaints, product defects and food-safety incidents.
Conduct root-cause analysis and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
Manage non-conforming products, including isolation, investigation and disposal approval.
Coordinate product traceability exercises, mock recalls and actual recalls when required.
Prepare for customer, certification and regulatory audits.
Follow up on audit findings and ensure corrective actions are completed on time.
Review supplier performance and support supplier approval assessments.
Maintain controlled documents, specifications, procedures and quality records.
Provide food-safety, hygiene and quality training to employees.
Monitor changes in customer, certification and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with QC, production, maintenance, warehouse and management teams.
Report significant food-safety or compliance risks to management immediately.
Perform other quality-assurance duties assigned by the QA Manager.
Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Management or a related field.
Experience in quality assurance within a poultry or food-processing factory is preferred.
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, sanitation, traceability and food-safety management systems.
Familiarity with poultry-processing operations and cold-chain requirements is an advantage.
Good auditing, investigation and problem-solving skills.
Strong documentation and report-writing abilities.
Able to communicate effectively with employees, auditors, customers and regulatory officers.
Detail-oriented, responsible and able to work independently.
Willing to enter cold, wet and production environments when required.
