Pastry CDP (up to $3,300 Mon to Fri, 5 days Near Labrador Park MRT)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Pastry Chef de Partie to join our client's culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry and baking, with a keen eye for detail and creativity. This position requires expertise in preparing a wide range of pastries, desserts, bread, and other baked goods. The candidate should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and capable of producing high volumes without compromising quality.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
• Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers.
• Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings, etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting.
• Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, etc., and make appropriate orders within budget.
• Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.
• Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel.
• Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.
• Coordinate with the culinary team to prepare for large parties, events, and banquets, ensuring high-quality output in a high-volume environment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or relevant role, with a focus on pastry and baking.
• Great attention to detail and creativity in crafting delicious and visually appealing pastries.
• In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, and baking techniques and nutrition.
• Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten-free, sugarless, etc.).
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Experience in a high-volume bakery or kitchen is highly beneficial.
