The Role

As a product technologist in our technical team, you would deliver/support safe, legal, and quality products for 7-11 Eleven - Ready to Eat categories. This is an exciting opportunity to cover a diverse range of Ready to Eat categories, always focusing on our customers and demonstrating business values-led behaviour. You would gain exposure to the broader technical team, the Commercial teams, local and global Suppliers and other industry experts.

• Support the Technical Manager and category to ensure that products in “Fresh & RTE” are safe, legal, responsibly sourced and meet the product brief, DFI Retail Group Brand & policies, and customer expectations.
• Ensure and follow through with the suppliers of “Fresh & RTE” products with appropriate technical audits, quality complaint management, and agreed-upon action plans for improvement.
• Developing expertise in the Fresh & RTE Category, achieving KPIs and supporting the development of policy/protocol in designated categories.
• Work with Technical Manager to minimise cost and risk in the supply chain and product range, ensuring appropriate controls for consistency, legality and quality of products & packaging and signing off products where appropriate.
• Monitor all quality feedback and assist in implementing actions to resolve issues, ensuring customer queries are answered in a timely way.
• Escalating and gathering data to support Incident management and enforcement challenges in designated categories.
• Support the Technical Manager and Procurement team in monitoring supplier and product performance by communicating trends.

About You

• University Degree in Bio-Science – preferably in Food Science and Technology
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in manufacturing in a quality/technical-related role.
• Attention to detail with analytical mind set, demonstrated ability to identify trends.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT), excellent in Excel skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, communicate effectively, work under pressure, and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
• Problem-solving skills and negotiating skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player.
• High energy, positive attitude, proactive, adaptable.
