Associate Medical Laboratory Technologist (Cytogenetics) #HZTK

Location: Kent Ridge

Working Hours

• 3-Shift Rotation
• Any 5 days per week

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and assess laboratory specimens, ensuring only suitable samples are accepted for analysis.
• Perform waived and moderate complexity laboratory tests in accordance with laboratory protocols and quality standards.
• Operate the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for order entry, result entry, and result enquiries.
• Prepare laboratory reagents and materials requiring special handling.
• Monitor and report critical laboratory values to the appropriate personnel.
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
• Report equipment malfunctions and ensure timely replenishment of laboratory reagents and consumables.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve laboratory-related queries.
• Participate in shift duties and support daily laboratory operations.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory accreditation standards, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), laboratory safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in evaluating new laboratory methodologies and technologies.
• Guide and support Laboratory Technicians, Clerical Staff, Health Attendants, trainees, and new staff when required.
• Assist with routine laboratory administrative duties, including filing, processing delivery orders, and invoices.
• Attend training, workshops, and in-service education to keep up with new laboratory techniques and technologies.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
