Business Development Associate

The Role

You'll be the first point of contact between Germinal Biotech and new clients. Your job is to find the right people, get their attention, and get us in the room — working alongside our senior technical team, who partner with you on scientific discussions and proposals. As you build market knowledge, there's clear room to grow into a senior business development role with ownership of accounts and deals.

What You'll Do

• Map and prospect Singapore's biomedical research ecosystem — public research institutes, universities, and biotech companies
• Reach out to Principal Investigators, R&D scientists, and project managers by email, LinkedIn, and phone
• Explain what we do clearly enough to earn a meeting, and qualify whether there's a real fit
• Schedule and prepare technical meetings for senior leadership
• Keep the pipeline organized and follow up consistently
• Represent Germinal Biotech at local life science conferences and networking events

What We're Looking For

• Sales experience is essential. 1–3 years in sales, inside sales, or business development within the life sciences sector — reagent, consumables, equipment, or CRO service sales is an ideal background
• Scientific literacy, not expertise. A BSc in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field, or equivalent working knowledge from selling into research labs. You don't need an antibody background — we'll teach you the platform
• Strong written and verbal communication, and comfort with high-volume outreach
• Resilience and self-direction — this role involves a lot of "no" before the "yes," with limited hand-holding
• Existing relationships in the Singapore research community are a significant advantage

We support biotech startups, pharmaceutical companies, and academic research groups across Singapore, China, and Southeast Asia — providing hybridoma, phage and yeast display, recombinant protein expression, and binding kinetics services. We're a small, technically deep team, and we're looking for a commercially driven person to expand our footprint in Singapore.
