Job Description - Enrolled Nurse

Comply with approved standards of nursing practices.
Work with SNs to uphold good outcomes through quality care.
Assist the SN in assessment of new admissions of residents.
Provide basic nursing care to the residents.
Carry out nursing rounds with the SN.
Assist the SN to supervise nursing aides and healthcare assistants.
Supervise care staff to ensure comfort and good personal hygiene of the residents under her/his care, e.g. bed bath/shower bath, changing of clothes and bed sheets and tidiness of the room.
Assist the SN to ensure residents take their medicines.
Supervise care staff to check, monitor and record residents’ vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and apex beats.
Guide care staff to assist in the transfer and positioning of non-ambulant residents.
Supervise care staff to assist in serving diets and feeding residents who are unable to feed themselves.
Maintain accurate documentation of care given.
Assist in the admission and orientation of new residents.
Perform rehabilitation procedures such as motion exercises for the residents and walking them.
Organize and send residents for appropriate therapy as prescribed, e.g. work rehabilitation programme.
Guide care staff in coordinating visits for medical check-ups, arranging transport and accompanying residents to the hospital/polyclinic for follow up appointments.
Work with SNs to maintain a safe and clean environment in the nursing home.
Initiate activities as first responder at emergency situations; alerts and supports the SN in such situations.
Participate in clinical or service quality improvement activities and contribute to changes or improvement of workflow.
Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
