Role Overview

St Joseph's Home is seeking a passionate individual to build a compassionate, capable, and mission-aligned workforce. This role goes beyond traditional HR—shaping a culture where staff feel called, supported, and empowered to serve with excellence and empathy. You will partner with senior leadership to ensure that our people practices reflect our Care values, sustain staff well-being, and enable high-quality care for residents and clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mission-Aligned People Strategy

  • Develop and implement a holistic HR strategy that supports CWS’ mission, growth, and sustainability.
  • Champion a culture grounded in service, compassion, and the dignity of every person.
  • Advise leadership on workforce planning, organisational design, and change management.

2. Talent Attraction & Formation

  • Attract individuals who are not only competent but also aligned with the organisation’s values and calling.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies, especially in a tight healthcare labour market.
  • Design formation programmes that help staff connect their daily work to a deeper sense of purpose and service.

3. Staff Engagement & Well-being

Foster a supportive environment that prioritises staff well-being, resilience, and psychological safety.
Implement initiatives addressing burnout, especially among caregiving staff.
Strengthen employee engagement through listening, recognition, and community-building efforts.

4. Learning & Development

  • Build strong capability development frameworks across clinical, operational, and corporate roles.
  • Support leadership development and succession planning.
  • Encourage continuous learning and professional growth, aligned with evolving eldercare needs.

5. Performance & Culture

  • Integrate pastoral care philosophy into HR practices where appropriate.
  • Oversee performance management systems that are fair, developmental, and mission-driven.
  • Shape organisational culture to promote accountability, teamwork, and excellence in care delivery.
  • Address staff relations issues with empathy, fairness, and integrity.

6. HR Operations &Governance

  • Ensure HR policies and practices are compliant with Singapore regulations and best practices.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and workforce analytics to support informed decision-making.
  • Strengthen HR systems and processes for efficiency and scalability.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 10-15 years of HR leadership experience, preferably in healthcare, social services, or non-profit sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Singapore employment laws and workforce challenges.
  • Proven ability to lead organisational change and build high-performing teams.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Uphold integrity and accountability in managing human resources.
  • A problem-solver with integrity, curiosity, and strong commitment to serving seniors and vulnerable communities.
