Job Responsibilities
To develop, review and implement nursing standards to ensure the delivery of safe, quality and evidence-based nursing practices. Maintain and update audit, compliance and legal documentation. Provide oversight in the growth and development of the nursing team to build a competent, engaged and future-ready workforce.
Primary Duties or Responsibilities
Client Care
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and policies for nursing care, in collaboration with Nurse Educator
Oversee the efficient and safe day-to-day operations of the Home as well as monitor and enforce compliance to operational SOP and policies.
Ensure strict infection control procedures are observed.
Ensure holistic quality care for residents in alignment with AWWA’s mission and values.
Collaborate with other members of the care team to provide and achieve the best outcomes for clients.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in resolving issues and concerns of residents and their families.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in planning and implementing the activities for clients and to encourage active participation.
Develop, track and review nursing key performance indicators and continuously identify areas for improvements and addressing gaps.
Lead and/or participate in various quality and continuous improvement projects to improve care standards.
Provide nursing support to the Day Activity Centre and other Adult Disability services.
Oversee the reporting, recording and tracking of incidents, medication errors and other client safety issues.
Monitor and analyse incident data for trends. Develop and implement corrective action plans and introduce quality indicators to monitor effectiveness.
Staff Management and Training
Participate in recruitment, selection, orientation training and performance management of care staff
Ensure staff’s compliance to nursing standards and protocols set by Nurse Educator
General Administration
Assist with the development of the nursing budget and track budget expenditure.
Oversee the efficient use, maintenance and management of nursing supplies and equipment.
Conduct regular reviews of usage of supplies and materials and evaluate possible alternatives.
Prepare statistical or any other reports as required.
Job Specifications
Registered with Singapore Nursing Board and holding a valid Practicing Certificate
Degree in Nursing from a recognized university
At least 10 years of relevant clinical experience (with a minimum of 5 years’ managerial/supervisory experience)
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
Relevant experience in Adult Disability Home, Nursing Home, Disability Services, Elderly Services would be an advantage
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Strong supervisory and managerial skills
Good organizing skills
Good communication and people engagement skills
Able to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team across all levels of staff
Mature in thinking, well-groomed and able to work independently
Organized and meticulous, with a high level of integrity
