Nursing Aide

Summary:

The Nursing Aide provides support and assistance to registered and enrolled nurses in the delivery of nursing care to residents with mental health conditions in a psychiatric welfare home setting. They play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the residents while ensuring their well-being and basic needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with personal hygiene care, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming residents.
• Monitoring residents' physical and mental health, reporting any concerns or changes to the nursing staff.
• Assisting with feeding and hydration needs of residents, ensuring they receive proper nutrition and fluids.
• Providing basic first-aid and taking vital signs as directed by the nursing staff.
• Helping to maintain a clean and sanitized environment in the residents' living areas and common spaces.
• Assisting with recreational activities and social interaction for residents.
• Following established safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of residents and staff.
• Documenting care provided in residents' medical records as directed by the nursing staff.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse or Assistant Nurse, which may include: Escorting residents to appointments or outings, assisting with medication administration under supervision and ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment.
