Assistant Service Attendant

Job Description

The Assistant Service Attendant supports daily restaurant operations by delivering food orders, clearing tables, and maintaining cleanliness of the dining area. The role ensures timely service and smooth coordination between kitchen and front-of-house teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver food & beverages from the kitchen/ bar to guests accurately and promptly. Present and serve food & beverages of high standards with adequate description & flair
• Clear used plates, cutlery, and glassware from tables
• Maintain cleanliness & appearance of all items such as centerpieces, china, glass & silver
• All settings, stations, equipment to be maintained immaculately & ready for smooth service
• Reset tables according to service standards
• Assist servers during peak periods
• Greet and welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner at all times. Ensure attentiveness towards guests, anticipating their needs, appropriate & prompt responses to all queries
• Refill water and basic table items when required
• Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and walkways
• Understand all stations & tasks sufficiently to perform any duty assigned, consistently demonstrating high levels of guest service.
• Follow hygiene, food safety, and workplace procedures in accordance with company and regulatory standards
• Support opening and closing duties as assigned
• Cleanliness of work areas to be maintained consistently, deep cleaning conducted regularly
• Communicate with the team and report any challenges, guest comments & any relevant information to the manager on duty in a timely manner
• Be proficient in all necessary knowledge including product & service.
• Conduct accurate stock counts & requisition, maintain organisation of all storage areas.
• Train, guide and monitor junior team members or part timers as necessary.
• Adhere to all company, safety & hygiene policies and procedures; report all accidents, injuries and incidents to management.

Job Requirements

• Able to stand and walk for extended periods
• Able to carry trays and items safely
• Willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
• Team-oriented and able to follow instructions
• No formal experience required, training will be provided
• Able to communicate in basic English for work-related instructions
