This role reports to the Executive Assistant Manager.
Job Responsibilities
1. Provides leadership, supervision and direction to the housekeeping team with a strong focus on guest services, training and safety.
2. Develops, implements and maintains International upscale hotel standards of cleanliness, guest service provision, organization, controls and reporting.
3. Oversees day-to-day cleaning operations, including guest rooms, public areas and laundry.
4. Regularly inspects rooms and public areas, ensuring all facilities meet or exceed brand standards.
5. Upholds a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the property
6. Establishes and enforces strict cleaning standards, procedures and safety protocols.
7. Handles guest complaints or concerns related to housekeeping, striving for quick and effective resolution.
8. Reviews/maintains a full set of operating policies and procedures.
9. Works with Human Resources for the recruitment of housekeeping team.
10. Recruits, trains, coaches and supervises housekeeping staff.
11. Maintains tight cost control for payroll.
12. Appoints and supervises contract services related to Housekeeping.
13. Collaborates with the Front Office and Engineering Departments to manage room availability and repairs.
14. Works with the Chief Engineer in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
15. Manages budgeting, forecasting and inventory control for cleaning supplies, linen and uniform.
16. Liaises with the Purchasing Manager for sourcing and purchasing of operating equipment and supplies, linen and amenities.
17. Performs any other duties and responsibilities as and when assigned by Management.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as an Executive Housekeeper or in a similar leadership role
2. A hands-on leader with strong leadership and organizational abilities
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. In-depth knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment
5. Ability to train and motivate a diverse team
6. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest issues professionally
7. Familiarity with housekeeping software and tools
8. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
9. Integrity and a customer-focused mindset
10. Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent
