The Security Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the hotel’s safety and security programme to protect guests, employees, assets and property while ensuring compliance with local laws and brand standards. The role leads the Security team, manages emergency preparedness, and partners with operations, facilities and local authorities to minimise risk and maintain a safe guest experience
Key responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive security programme, policies and procedures (access control, CCTV, patrols, incident reporting, loss prevention)
Recruit, train, schedule and supervise security officers; conduct performance reviews and onboard new team members. Oversee physical security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control), coordinate maintenance and recommend upgrades
Plan, run and document emergency response procedures and drills (fire, medical, evacuation, active threat)
Investigate incidents (theft, assault, property loss, safety breaches), prepare written reports and recommend corrective actions
Liaise with local law enforcement, emergency services and external agencies; act as primary security contact for authorities
Ensure compliance with legal, licensing and industry requirements for security operations; maintain accurate records and incident logs
Support special events and VIP movements with risk assessments and security plans
Manage department budget, rostering, inventory (radios, PPE, keys) and petty cash where required
Chair or participate in safety committee meetings and deliver safety training to hotel staff.
