Job Description - Security Supervisor (The Mora Singapore)

Summary:

The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily hotel security operations to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, contractors, visitors, and hotel assets. The role supports the Facility Manager in implementing security policies, supervising security personnel, managing incident response, and maintaining a safe and secure environment in compliance with hotel standards and Singapore regulations. The Security Supervisor plays a key role in risk prevention, emergency preparedness, and operational safety.

1. Security Operations & Supervision

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of outsourced security personnel.
  • Ensure all security operations are carried out in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular patrols of hotel premises, including public areas, back-of-house, and perimeter.
  • Monitor access control, CCTV systems, and alarm systems to ensure proper functioning and response.
  • Enforce security and access control procedures for employees, guests, contractors, vendors, and deliveries.

2. Safety & Incident Management

  • Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, fire alarms, and disturbances.
  • Investigate security breaches, theft, accidents, or suspicious activities and prepare incident reports.
  • Ensure timely escalation of serious incidents to Management and emergency services such as police, fire department, medical team and relevant authorities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all incidents, investigations, and follow-up actions.

3. Guest & Staff Safety

  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for all hotel guests and staff at all times.
  • Handle guest complaints related to safety and security professionally and discreetly.
  • Assist in crowd control during events, peak periods, or emergency situations.
  • Support evacuation procedures and emergency drills in coordination with management.
  • Support implementation of workplace safety initiatives and emergency preparedness programmes.

4. Team Leadership & Training

  • Supervise, train, and mentor security officers to maintain high performance standards.
  • Conduct daily briefings and shift handovers to ensure clear communication.
  • Monitor staff attendance, discipline, grooming, and performance.
  • Assist in scheduling shifts and deployment of security personnel.
  • Ensure all security personnel are trained in emergency response procedures and hotel SOPs.

5. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Singapore Police Force (PLRD) regulations and workplace safety requirements where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore laws, hotel security policies, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend improvements to security procedures.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and security systems.
  • Support audits and inspections related to safety and security compliance.

6. Coordination with Other Departments

  • Work closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure smooth hotel operations.
  • Coordinate with Facility Manager on maintenance issues related to safety and security systems.
  • Support hotel events, VIP arrivals, and high-profile guest security arrangements.

7. Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare daily security reports, incident reports, and shift logs.
  • Maintain records of key control, lost and found items, and visitor logs.
  • Report security concerns, hazards, and operational issues to the Facility Manager.

8. Emergency Preparedness & Fire Safety

  • Support implementation of emergency response procedures and crisis management plans.
  • Participate in fire drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency preparedness training.
  • Ensure emergency exits, fire safety equipment, and evacuation routes remain accessible and compliant.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Safety teams on fire safety and emergency response matters.

Any other ad hoc duties as directed.

Qualification:

  • Diploma in Security Management, Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, or related discipline.
  • WSQ security certifications or relevant security licences.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in security operations, preferably within hospitality or commercial properties.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of hotel security operations and emergency procedures.
  • Good leadership and team supervision skills.
  • Strong incident handling and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good knowledge of CCTV, access control, and security systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and during emergencies.
  • Good report writing and documentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and operational awareness.
  • Good understanding of workplace safety and security compliance requirements.
