Shore Excursions Senior Coordinator

As a Shore Excursion Senior Coordinator, you will plan, coordinate, and oversee shore excursion programs across all ports of call, ensuring high-quality guest experiences, operational efficiency, and strong vendor performance in line with cruise schedules.

Job Responsibilities

1. Shore Excursion Planning & Development

• Design and develop shore excursion programs for various destinations aligned with guest profiles and itinerary requirements

• Source, evaluate, and propose new tour concepts to enhance guest experience and revenue opportunities

• Ensure all excursions meet safety, quality, and compliance standards

2. Operations & Execution

• Coordinate end-to-end execution of shore excursions, including scheduling, logistics, and capacity planning

• Prepare and verify tour manifests, timing, and operational readiness prior to vessel arrival

• Monitor on-ground operations to ensure smooth tour dispatch and return within cruise schedules

3. Vendor & Port Coordination

• Liaise with local tour operators, transport providers, and port agents to secure services and confirm arrangements

• Negotiate competitive rates and manage contracts with vendors

• Evaluate vendor performance and address service gaps or operational issues

4. Onboard & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with onboard teams to align excursion operations with guest needs and cruise itineraries

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align operational requirements and provide briefings on shore excursion activities.

• Provide operational updates and support during port calls

5. Guest Experience & Service Recovery

• Monitor and analyse guest feedback related to shore excursions

• Escalate service gaps and operational issues to management and suppliers, ensuring timely resolution and service recovery

• Support continuous improvement of excursion offerings based on guest insights and trends

6. Cost Control & Revenue Optimization

• Monitor excursion performance, including revenue, participation rates, and profitability

• Identify opportunities to optimize pricing, packaging, and tour offerings

• Ensure cost control while maintaining service quality

7. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all tours comply with local regulations, safety requirements, and company policies

• Maintain accurate documentation, contracts, and operational records

• Support audits and reporting requirements

8. Administration & Reporting

• Manage end-to-end administrative processes related to shore excursion operations

• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly operational and performance reports

• Coordinate and process vendor payments in accordance with company policies

9. Others

• Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management

• Frequent cruising and port visits are required to manage and oversee shore excursion delivery on-site.

• Flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays is essential to support vessel schedules and tour operations.

Job Requirements

• Experience in a similar role within the travel and tourism industry; cruise experience will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of cruise operations, itineraries, and shore excursion planning will be beneficial.
  
• Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft 365 including SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
  
• Frequent travel and cruising is required to support operational needs.
  
• Required to work on weekends and public holidays based on operational needs.
