Job Description - Sales Manager of Groups & Events
Job summary The Sales Manager of Groups & Events is responsible for assisting the sales efforts of the Groups and Events Sales Team
They are responsible for ensuring optimal utilization and selling of the hotel’s function spaces
They must generate proposals, handle enquiries, and review results and forecasts
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities • Direct receipt, qualification, and coordination of catering event and wedding enquiries
• Ensure the ideal utilization of function spaces including restaurants
• Carry out site inspections with potential clients
• Realize upsell possibilities to meet budget goals
• Input, supervise, and maintain requests in the Opera S&C System
• Generate proper proposals and contracts
• Follow up on sent out proposals and clarify questions and issues
• Handle inquiries until conversion to definite bookings
• Handle confirmed events business/meeting and handover group files
• Review monthly results and forecasts and execute activities to increase market share and maximize revenue
• Complete administrative tasks and ad-hoc duties
Requirements • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar capacity
• Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management, or a Diploma in Hotel Management with 5 years' experience
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Professional disposition with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
