Job Description - Assistant L & D Manager

They are looking for a highly motivated and experienced candidate to join them as a key member of the L&D team. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills, knowledge, and performance of their staff, ensuring the continuous development and success of their workforce. This role is responsible in developing learning and development approaches to build the organization and workforce capability. This includes, but not limited to, conducting data analysis, generate insights, and propose recommendations to complement L&D strategies, programmes, and processes to drive a top performing culture in our client’s workforce.

Assistant Manager, Learning & Development

Job Overview:

The Assistant Manager, Learning & Development is an important part of the HR team and has accountability for all of development strategies and programs for all of the client’s business. This role will partner closely with the HR Director, heads of business units across the organization to create and implement learning solutions and programming that support for all roles across the organization.

The incumbent is a strong performance consultant who can develop solutions and programming to build foundational to advanced knowledge, continuously build capability and confidence in learners in order to accelerate speed to performance and contribution. This leader must have experience in orchestrating organizationally complex work and demonstrating business impact through data.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with department heads and HR to assess training needs and develop training plans aligned with organizational objectives;
  • Design, develop, and update training materials, including presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, and other resources;
  • Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques and formats, both in-person and virtually;
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through sessions, including scheduling and participant registration;
  • Collaborate with managers and HR Team to identify high-potential employees and create individual development plans;
  • Conduct periodic assessments of the organization’s training needs based on business objectives, industry needs, and individual performance gaps;
  • Strong understanding of skill matrix and skill inventories;
  • Support other HR initiatives and projects as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Human Resource / Business Administration or equivalent, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in learning/training and development, curriculum design and planning, and/or course administration;
  • Preferably with ACTA certification;
  • Well-versed with government training grants and subsidies;
  • Not much stand-up training;
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Possess a positive mindset and able to overcome difficulties to achieve desired results;
  • Resilient, able to manage multiple priorities at the same time and meet tight deadlines;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills that are persuasive, influential and compelling;
  • Able to work independently and also a strong team member that adopts a professional and conscientious approach.
