Job Description - Senior Manager, HR & Corporate Affairs

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-spectrum HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement
  • Manage compensation, benefits administration, and HR information systems with accurate record-keeping
  • Oversee HR compliance matters such as income tax, employee insurance, and statutory requirements
  • Handle work pass applications and support matters related to foreign employees
  • Plan and administer employee training and development programmes
  • Supervise daily office operations and ensure smooth administrative processes
  • Manage non-trade accounts payable/receivable and review staff expense claims
  • Coordinate company events, meetings, and internal activities
  • Oversee company assets, including vehicles, memberships, bookings, access cards, and debit cards
  • Ensure workplace safety and health standards are maintained
  • Support corporate governance, including audits, compliance activities, and internal controls (e.g. J-SOX)
  • Assist in Board of Directors matters and government-related applications (e.g. grants, memberships)
  • Support overseas office operations, including HR and administrative coordination
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to policies and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in HR, administration, corporate affairs, or office management
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience handling HR compliance matters, including tax, insurance, and employment regulations
  • Proven experience in office administration, operational oversight, and corporate governance support
  • Strong numerical skills with high attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity
  • Experience in a trading company, or energy-related business is an added advantage
