Legal Counsel – (3 Year PQE/Commodities Trading)

Our client, a commodities trading firm is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to support the firm's commodities trading business. 

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commodity sale and purchase agreements, ISDA/EFET documentation, trade finance agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Advise trading, operations, risk, and management teams on legal and regulatory matters relating to commodities trading activities.
• Support structured trade finance transactions, including letters of credit, guarantees, and financing arrangements.
• Provide legal guidance on shipping, logistics, storage, and transportation-related matters.
• Manage disputes, claims, arbitrations, and external counsel engagements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with applicable trading, sanctions, AML, and corporate governance requirements.
• Support corporate, strategic, and cross-border business initiatives.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 3-5 years of PQE gained from an international law firm, commodities trading house, financial institution, or multinational corporation.
• Experience in commodities trading, commercial contracts, trade finance, and regulatory advisory.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially focused with the ability to provide practical legal solutions in a fast-paced trading environment.
