Senior Legal Counsel

An established, independent multi-family office headquartered in Singapore is inviting a keen individual to join its team as a Senior Legal Counsel.                                           

Job Responsibilities

• Assessing investments, advising the families on regulatory questions

• Instructing external counsel and drafting the firm’s policies and internal guidance, with the occasional M&A or financing transaction along the way.

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, with particular attention to cross-border agreements.

• Help design and implement the firm’s risk-management systems alongside the legal team.

• Carry out legal assessments and due diligence on prospective investments and advise on the structuring of asset-holding vehicles (e.g. VCC) and their capital structures.

• Build out and maintain the firm’s compliance and corporate-governance framework, including KYC/AML processes and regulatory-suitability requirements. Support the Compliance and Due Diligence Officer function, where needed. 

Job Requirements

• A qualified lawyer with a strong academic record and 5-10 years PQE, gained in private practice and/or in-house, with strength in investment work, regulatory advice and commercial contracts; exposure to M&A, financing and disputes.

• Admission to the Singapore Bar and familiarity with Singapore law preferred.

• A commercially minded lawyer

• Experience working in a family office setup
