Air Freight Commercial & Procurement Manager (3PL / MNC) [EL]

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Air Freight Pricing & Procurement Manager to lead pricing and procurement initiatives across our air freight business. This role is responsible for developing competitive pricing strategies, managing airline and carrier relationships, and supporting business growth through effective cost management and market intelligence. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving profitability, securing capacity, and delivering value-added pricing solutions to both internal stakeholders and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing & Procurement

• Manage and maintain air freight pricing, including spot quotations, tariff rates, and contract pricing.
• Lead airline rate procurement activities to ensure competitive and market-aligned pricing.
• Negotiate rates, capacity commitments, and space allocations with airlines, GSAs, and strategic partners.
• Develop and optimize pricing structures to maximize profitability and margin performance.

Business Development, Commercial Support & RFQ Management

• Identify new business opportunities through market analysis and competitive pricing strategies.
• Support business acquisition initiatives by providing commercially attractive pricing solutions.
• Lead and manage RFQs, tenders, and bidding activities for both prospective and existing customers.
• Collaborate closely with Sales teams to improve bid competitiveness and conversion rates.
• Deliver timely pricing support to meet customer requirements and commercial objectives.

Market Intelligence & Analysis

• Monitor market trends, rate movements, and competitor activities.
• Analyse airline cost structures, route networks, and capacity developments.
• Provide market insights and recommendations to strengthen pricing competitiveness.

Carrier Management & Coordination

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with airlines, GSAs, and key partners.
• Ensure timely communication of surcharge updates, market developments, and carrier announcements.
• Optimise space utilisation and loading plans based on available allocations and capacity.

Internal Collaboration & Compliance

• Partner with Operations, Sales, and overseas offices to align pricing and procurement strategies.
• Ensure compliance with internal pricing policies, governance requirements, and approval processes.
• Maintain pricing databases, systems, and tools to support operational efficiency.
• Support the resolution of customer escalations relating to pricing and capacity matters.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Air Freight Pricing, Procurement, or Commercial Management within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
• Strong understanding of airline pricing structures, capacity management, and global air freight market dynamics.
• Proven experience managing RFQs/RFPs and multinational customer accounts.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, pricing tools, and freight forwarding systems.
