Job Description - Associate Director, Supply Chain

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fully responsible for the supply chain operations in the countries/ region
  • Provide leadership and partner with key stakeholders to drive process improvement and meet business demands in some or all the following functions: demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, freight and distribution and customer service
  • Redefines systems, processes and organizational structures to maximize supply chain efficiency and financial savings
  • Develop strategies for improving operation efficiencies while improving service levels and optimizing inventory levels as well as operation costs
  • Cooperate with local management for all initiatives implementation in the country/ region
  • Collaborate with other functions such as sales/marketing, finance, RA/QA and IT to integrate business process and develop solutions
  • Prepare inventory, scrap, operations cost forecasts and budget recommendations for management
  • Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to demand forecasting, inventory processes/operations, measure actual performance against goals on regular basis and present results to senior management
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Create and maintains departmental reports and track Key KPI as required
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures and maintain effective internal control over supply chain processes
  • Develop and implement supply chain policies, procedures/SOPs and ensure 100% compliance
  • Apply continuous improvement tools to identify and eliminate the root causes of issues that may arise within the warehouse including managing corrective action
  • Provide strategic leadership to a team, with responsibility for training and development, performance management, career progression, and employee relations

Other requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, a related field, or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a healthcare industry  
  • At least 8 years of demonstrated experience at a supervisory/managerial level.
  • Multi-disciplinary knowledge with significant expertise in regulatory requirements for implantable cardiac devices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of and be completely familiar with applicable Japan regulations, other relevant domestic/international regulatory document submission requirements, the necessity of working within those constraints, as well as Company operating procedures, policies, processes, and tasks
  • Comprehensive extensive experience in managing project teams or equivalent
  • Comprehensive analytical/problem solving, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
  • Documented record of delivering research information that adds value to management's decision-making process.
  • Advanced computer skills including spreadsheet, word processing database management, and specialized applications.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Expected to supervise multiple teams of supervisors and specialist employees 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Project management capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, proactive and self-motivated. Attention to detail.  Meet deadlines under pressure 
  • Handle and process customer complaints in timely manner and according to company policy and requirement
  • Prepare for Audits, Compliances & SOX, etc.
