Business Development Executive/Manager (General & Project Cargo)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Executive/Manager to drive business growth for our General and Project Cargo logistics services. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and promoting customized freight forwarding and logistics solutions across various industries, including oil & gas, construction, infrastructure, energy, mining, manufacturing, and heavy industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities for general freight and project cargo services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, EPC companies, manufacturers, and logistics partners.
• Promote the company's sea freight, air freight, land transportation, project logistics, heavy lift, breakbulk, and oversized cargo solutions.
• Prepare competitive quotations, tenders, and logistics proposals tailored to customer requirements.
• Lead commercial negotiations and close sales opportunities to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market share within targeted industries.
• Conduct customer visits, site surveys, and project discussions to understand cargo handling and transportation requirements.
• Collaborate with the operations and project teams to develop cost-effective and efficient logistics solutions.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer developments to identify new business opportunities.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management.
• Participate in industry exhibitions, networking events, and trade conferences to strengthen the company's market presence.
• Ensure excellent customer service throughout the sales process and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Coordinate with overseas agents and strategic partners to support cross-border and international logistics projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of business development or sales experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or project cargo.
• Proven experience in selling general freight, project cargo, breakbulk, heavy lift, oversized cargo, or multimodal transportation solutions.
• Strong understanding of international shipping, Incoterms, customs procedures, and global logistics operations.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to develop tailored logistics solutions.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally when required.

Preferred Experience

• Existing network with EPC contractors, project owners, freight forwarders, shipping lines, transport companies, and industrial customers.
• Experience handling project tenders, heavy-lift logistics, and oversized cargo transportation.
• Knowledge of chartering, breakbulk operations, port handling, and specialized transport solutions.
• Familiarity with industries such as oil & gas, renewable energy, infrastructure, construction, mining, and manufacturing.
