Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing demand planning, supply planning, and import operations to ensure the efficient and cost-effective flow of imported FMCG products from overseas suppliers to distribution centres and retail stores. The role focuses on maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring product availability, supporting regulatory compliance, and coordinating timely inbound and outbound shipments to meet business and customer requirements.

This role is based in Tampines North.

Key Responsibilities

Demand & Supply Planning

• Develop demand forecasts and supply plans for imported FMCG products by analysing sales trends, promotional activities, seasonality, and market insights.
• Manage the end-to-end replenishment cycle, ensuring timely procurement and delivery of products from overseas suppliers to distribution centres and retail stores.
• Align inventory planning with category initiatives, promotional campaigns, and festive programmes to ensure product availability.
• Monitor supply chain conditions and proactively identify potential disruptions such as production constraints, raw material shortages, or logistics issues, implementing mitigation plans where necessary.
• Liaise closely with overseas suppliers to monitor production schedules, inventory availability, lead times, and shipment progress.
• Optimise inventory levels by balancing service levels, lead times, minimum order quantities, shelf-life considerations, and working capital objectives.
• Analyse stock performance, investigate out-of-stock issues, and implement corrective actions to improve on-shelf availability.
• Manage excess, slow-moving, and discontinued inventory in collaboration with commercial teams to minimise stock risks.

Import Operations & Compliance

• Coordinate the full import process, from purchase order placement through shipment planning, customs clearance, and delivery to distribution centres.
• Work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping partners, and warehouse teams to ensure timely and efficient inbound logistics.
• Monitor shipment status, resolve delivery exceptions, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain import permits, licences, and regulatory documentation while ensuring compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements.
• Monitor import-related costs, including freight, duties, and other logistics expenses, to support cost-effective operations.
• Coordinate payment processing and account reconciliations with overseas suppliers and logistics service providers.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, food safety requirements, and import licensing standards through close collaboration with internal regulatory and quality teams.
• Prepare monthly reports on import-related costs and operational activities for management review.

Export Coordination

• Prepare export documentation, including permits, declarations, and certificates required for international shipments.
• Coordinate export schedules based on customer requirements and delivery timelines.
• Liaise with freight forwarders and logistics partners to arrange export shipments and ensure smooth execution.
• Ensure export activities comply with destination country regulations and trade requirements.
• Track export orders and shipments to ensure timely fulfilment and delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics and/or related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in supply chain planning and import & export operations.
• Experience in demand forecasting, inventory planning, supply chain operations, data analysis, and statistical forecasting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other planning or data analysis tools.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills.
