Fleet Director (Tankers)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall performance of the tanker fleet, ensuring high standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency
• Oversee technical operations, including maintenance, dry-docking, and vessel inspections
• Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations (e.g., IMO, OCIMF, ISM, MARPOL) and vetting requirements
• Manage and guide Technical Superintendents and fleet teams to achieve operational excellence
• Monitor vessel performance, budgets, and cost control initiatives
• Drive continuous improvement in HSSEQ standards and best practices
• Support incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions
• Collaborate with commercial and operations teams to optimize fleet utilization
• Engage with external stakeholders including owners, class societies, and authorities

Requirements

• Chief Engineer (Class 1) or Marine Engineering degree or equivalent
• Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience, including shore-based tanker fleet management
• Proven experience managing tanker vessels (oil/chemical/product tankers)
• Strong knowledge of OCIMF/SIRE, ISM, MARPOL, and classification requirements
• Leadership experience managing teams and multiple vessels
• Strong commercial awareness and cost management capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
