Footwear Materials Vendor Lead

The Footwear Materials Vendor lead supports the Global Head of Footwear Material Vendors with the daily management of commercial relationship with various suppliers. He/she supports by creating and executing upon vendor/material category strategies established in accordance with GMM and overall company strategy and targets.

He/she is responsible to coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure successful product launches, production and commercial deliverables for ECCO holistically.

The Footwear Materials Vendor lead acts as an interface with other stakeholders in the greater Supply Chain Department to participate in early risk assessment and support in execution of risk mitigation plans. The objective is to ensure little to no supply issues during bulk production for new materials in first production bulk deliveries as well as on the existing material portfolio.

Responsibilities

Vendor/Material Category Management

• Support GMM to find, identify, evaluate and manage materials/vendors

• Support GMM on execution of material category strategies  

• Identify and assess potential new suppliers and their production facilities/capabilities
   

Supplier Management

• Support in assessing and monitoring results of Corrective Action Plans from Poor Performing Suppliers

• Resolve escalation issues from Quality, Production units, R&D, Sustainability and Compliance

• Manage total supplier capacity footprint to ensure selection of appropriate suppliers to meet ECCO’s production needs of on time deliveries with good quality at the right cost
  

New Product Introduction

• Support GMM with implementing risk mitigation plans in alignment with various stakeholders

• Support GMM through alternative sourcing for new materials during development phase

• Evaluate using Should Cost Analysis and benchmarking vs existing materials on new materials from selected supplier to ensure the right supplier is chosen with right pricing and commercial terms

Cost Management

• Track, suggest and follow up on progress of recommended proposals for Cost Saving Initiatives to ensure successful implementation 

• Negotiate prices with suppliers under category

• Monitor and track market and material commodity trends to give pricing forecasts to GMM leadership

Others

• Support on improvement projects lead by GMM and for ECCO as a whole through OKR’s

• Support our internal stakeholders wherever necessary and agreed upon

Requirements

• Masters/Degree in Business/Economics or Supply Chain Management (Sourcing/Procurement)

• More than 2 years work experience, preferably in sourcing/procurement

• Experience in project management  

• Experience in negotiation

• Experience in coordinating with different stakeholders within cross functional team 

• Experience in Shoe Making industry a plus but not necessary

• Experience within MNC environment
