Haulage Controller Immediate hiring

The Controller (Container Haulage) is to lead the day-to-day execution of container haulage operations. This role is responsible for the efficient deployment of the fleet, managing driver performance, and ensuring seamless container movement between port terminal, warehouses and customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership & Fleet Dispatch
- Directly oversea the daily planning and dispatching of container truck drivers to ensure maximum fleet productivity.
- Manage all haulage operations, including the coordination of container pick-up and delivery from port terminals (PSA/Jurong port), warehouses and customer sites.
- Act as the central controller to resolve operational bottlenecks traffic delays, or port congestion proactively.
- Optimize fleet utilization and route planning to improve vehicle turnaround time and reduce empty miles.
- Lead the operations executives to ensures all key performance indicators (KPI's) and on-time delivery targets are met,

2. People & Driver Management

- Supervises, coach and develops both operations staff and a large pool of drivers, ensuring high levels of discipline and professionalism.

- Manage driver roster, duty cycles and overtime, ensuring adequate manning levels for 24/7 or peak-period operations.

- Ensure strict adherence to working hour regulations and fatigue management.

- Drive a culture of safety and accountability, handle driver grievances or behavioral issues and fairly.

3. Fleet & Equipment Management

- Monitor the daily status of container trucks and trailers to ensure maximum equipment availability.

- Coordinate directly with workshop and maintenance teams for servicing schedules, washing schedules and rapid breakdown management. Must ensure drivers are submitting the vehicle checklists accordingly.
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle performance, and idling times to drive cost efficiencies across the fleet.

4. Compliance & Safety

- Ensures adherence to all regulatory requirements from LTA, PSA, and MPA.

- Enforces Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, ensure drivers are trained in safe loading / unloading and lashing procedures.

- Maintains meticulously updated records for vehicle permits, licenses and safety audits.

5. Customer Service & Stakeholder Management

- Serve as the key point of contact for clients, port authorities and logistics partners for all transport - related matters.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve service-related issues or complaints promptly.

6. Business Development & Profitability

- Monitor department expenses to ensure the haulage unit remains profitable and meets budget targets.

- Liaise with shipping and warehousing department on daily basis to ensure integrated service delivery and smooth handovers.
- Actively bring in new container haulage business leads to expand the customer base.
