Reports to: Operations Director / General Manager
The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily transportation and fleet operations to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of goods via land transport.
Plan and manage daily transportation schedules and routes
Coordinate dispatch operations and delivery assignments
Ensure timely pickups and deliveries
Monitor fleet utilization and driver performance
Handle emergency logistics issues (delays, breakdowns, accidents)
Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and inspections
Manage fleet availability and capacity planning
Ensure compliance with transport regulations and safety standards
Monitor fuel usage and vehicle efficiency
Coordinate vehicle repairs and vendor servicing
Supervise drivers, dispatchers, and logistics coordinators
Conduct performance evaluations
Ensure drivers comply with company policies and safety procedures
Manage driver schedules and leave planning
Organize safety and compliance training
Develop cost-efficient routing strategies
Reduce fuel consumption and transit times
Analyze GPS and tracking data
Implement route optimization tools
Liaise with customers regarding delivery schedules
Handle service issues and complaints
Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors
Coordinate with warehouses and distribution centers
Ensure compliance with transport authority regulations
Manage permits, insurance, and vehicle documentation
Ensure adherence to safety laws and road regulations
Monitor driver licensing and certifications
Prepare logistics budgets
Monitor operational costs (fuel, tolls, maintenance)
Identify cost-reduction opportunities
Review freight rates and profitability per route
Generate operational and financial reports
Track KPIs (on-time delivery rate, fuel efficiency, downtime)
Prepare monthly performance reports
Analyze logistics data for improvement opportunities
Recommend strategic improvements
Strong knowledge of land transport operations
Route planning and fleet management expertise
Leadership and team management skills
Problem-solving and decision-making ability
Knowledge of transport compliance and safety regulations
Proficiency in logistics software & GPS tracking systems
Budgeting and cost analysis skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or Business Administration
3–7+ years of experience in transportation/logistics operations
Experience managing fleet-based operations
