Logistics Planner Roles & Responsibilities (Expanded)

1. Logistics Planning & Coordination

* Create daily, weekly, and monthly logistics plans.

* Plan inbound and outbound shipment schedules.

* Coordinate delivery activities with suppliers, customers, warehouses, and transport providers.

* Allocate transportation resources based on shipment requirements.

* Monitor shipment capacity and optimize loading plans.

* Prepare contingency plans for delays, shortages, or disruptions.

* Ensure smooth movement of goods from origin to destination.

2. Transportation Management

* Arrange trucks, vans, containers, and freight services.

* Coordinate with local transport companies and freight forwarders.

* Plan delivery routes to reduce travel time and fuel costs.

* Monitor vehicle utilization and delivery performance.

* Track driver schedules and delivery status.

* Handle urgent delivery arrangements.

* Review transportation costs and identify savings opportunities.

3. Warehouse Coordination

* Coordinate warehouse receiving and dispatch activities.

* Plan stock movement between locations.

* Support warehouse space planning.

* Monitor inventory availability for customer orders.

* Coordinate picking, packing, and shipment preparation.

* Work with warehouse teams to resolve operational issues.

* Ensure proper handling and storage of goods.

4. Inventory Management

* Monitor inventory levels and stock movements.
