Job Description - Manager, Business Development (Freight Forwarding)

The Client:

The client is a global leader in logistics and supply chain management, offering a comprehensive range of services to enhance the efficiency and reliability of its clients' operations. Specializing in freight, they provide tailored solutions that cater to diverse industries, ensuring timely delivery and streamlined processes. Job Scope:

The individual will take on the role of a Manager, Business Development bringing in a great deal of expertise and drive. In a variety of product sectors, such as freight forwarding, contract logistics, and project logistics, the chosen applicant will be instrumental in generating new business prospects.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue potential business opportunities, utilizing an extensive network and thorough market research.
  • Drive growth across multiple product lines for the organisation.
  • Explore opportunities for cross-selling to both new and existing clients to expand service offerings.
  • Create and preserve a solid rapport with important contacts in both new and current accounts.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service to guarantee account retention.
  • Develop and carry out fresh business plans to drive expansion and improve business growth strategies.
  • Manage and support negotiations and business proposals to ensure it meets the organisations business goals.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • More than 6 years of experience in freight forwarding with strong business development and sales background.
  • More than 2 years of leadership or people management experience.
  • Excellent sales record and achievements in a freight forwarding background is a plus.
  • Ability to speak mandarin is a plus as the role will include overseeing the Chinese market.
  • Individuals that are hungry to join a sales environment and has the drive to bring in accounts is a plus.
