Job Description - Procurement Manager

About Us

We are a leading distributor in the fast-paced wholesale beverage sector. We supply a diverse portfolio of products—ranging from premium liquors, craft beers and popular beverages—to retail, hospitality, and corporate clients. To optimize our supply chain and fuel our expansion, we are seeking a strategic, commercially sharp Procurement Manager.

Role Overview

As the Procurement Manager, you will hold the keys to our product inventory, supplier relationships, and margin optimization. You will design and execute sourcing strategies for our entire beverage catalog, negotiate high-volume contracts, manage vendor performance, and collaborate closely with Sales and Warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels without over-inventorying.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier & Vendor Management: Identify, vet, and onboard global and local beverage producers. Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to secure priority allocations.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead price negotiations, payment terms, volume discounts, and rebate structures to maximize profitability margins.
  • Inventory Optimization: Analyze sales forecasts and historical data to establish reorder points. Minimize stockouts of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and reduce dead stock.
  • Market Analysis & Trend Spotting: Monitor global beverage trends, commodity pricing (such as aluminum or sugar shifts), and supply chain disruptions to pivot buying strategies proactively.
  • Compliance Coordination: Work closely with the legal/compliance team to ensure all imported or locally sourced alcohol and beverages meet local labeling, customs, and distribution laws.
  • Cost Management: Track procurement metrics, manage landed cost calculations (freight, duties, tax), and deliver regular cost-saving reports to senior leadership.
  • Any Ad-Hoc tasks assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 4–6 years of procurement or purchasing experience, with at least 2 years specifically within the food and beverage (F&B), FMCG, or liquor wholesale industry.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrable success in high-volume negotiations and managing complex supplier networks.
  • Analytical Skills: High proficiency in data analysis, demand forecasting, and advanced MS Excel.
  • Tech Literacy: Solid experience utilizing ERP and inventory management systems.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of global supply chains, freight logistics, and the regulatory landscape of alcohol distribution.
  • Required: Well-versed in both spoken and written Mandarin to communicate effectively with Chinese-speaking stakeholders/clients.
