• Remuneration Package: Up to $5000 + Fixed Allowances $220
• Location: Jurong Island & CBD Office (Hybrid Site Coordination Role)
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

About the Opportunity

An established multinational manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join its procurement team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with plant operations, engineering, maintenance, and logistics stakeholders in a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services required to support plant operations while driving supplier performance, cost optimization, and procurement excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement cycle, including sourcing, quotation evaluation, purchase order processing, and supplier management.
• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders accurately and efficiently through SAP.
• Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost competitiveness, and timely delivery.
• Conduct commercial negotiations and support contract administration activities.
• Monitor purchase order status and expedite deliveries to support uninterrupted plant operations.
• Liaise closely with freight forwarding companies and logistics providers on shipment coordination matters.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Finance teams to understand procurement requirements and timelines.
• Resolve procurement-related issues including delivery delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
• Support tender exercises, supplier evaluations, spend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and purchasing documentation in compliance with company procedures.

Requirements

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement or purchasing experience within a manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, industrial, or plant environment.
• Hands-on experience with supplier sourcing, vendor management, contract administration, and commercial negotiations.
• Strong SAP experience is mandatory
• Familiarity with plant operations and procurement requirements within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
