Shipping Assistant (Airfreight, Import)

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage end-to-end air freight import operations, ensuring timely receipt, handling, and delivery of cargo.

• Liaise closely with airlines, customers, ground handlers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth cargo movement.

• Prepare, process, and verify air waybills (AWB), customs clearance documentation, billing, and invoices.

• Monitor and track shipments, providing regular updates to customers and internal teams.

• Handle operational exceptions such as shipment delays, damages, discrepancies, and claims, ensuring prompt resolution.

• Ensure compliance with air cargo regulations, company SOPs, and industry standards.

• Work collaboratively with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to support service excellence.

• Maintain accurate operational records, including shipment details, cargo manifests, and billing information.

• Ensure accurate and timely billing in accordance with agreed rates and services rendered.

• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and operational best practices, and proactively share insights with the team.

• Perform other operational duties as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience in air freight operations (import experience preferred).

• Familiarity with air cargo documentation, customs procedures, and billing processes.

• Strong coordination and communication skills.

• Detail-oriented, able to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.

• Proficient in MS Office; experience with freight forwarding systems is an advantage.
