Shipping Assistant (Freight Forwarding / Agency Support)

• Position: Shipping Assistant (Freight Forwarding / Agency Support)

• Location: Central Area

• Working Hours: 5-day work week, office hours

• Salary (commensurate with experience): Up to $3,500 + performance bonus

• Duration: Permanent

• Industry: Freight and Logistics Solutions Provider

Main Responsibilities

• Build and maintain working relationships with overseas shipping agents.

• Identify, evaluate and recommend new overseas agents when required.

• Correspond with overseas agents on agency-related matters.

• Monitor overseas agent contributions and support network coordination matters.

• Coordinate new agent code creation in the CW1 system, including basic background checks.

• Support regional office matters relating to agency agreements.

• Assist with yearly liability insurance policy renewals.

• Support direct customers with supply and shipment arrangements when required.

• Handle marine insurance claims, including cargo claims and liability claims.

• Support ad-hoc shipping, logistics and agency administration duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Training will be provided.

• At least 1 year of prior experience in shipping, logistics or freight forwarding will be advantageous.

• Knowledge of overseas shipping agency matters, especially within Southeast Asia, will be advantageous.

• Organised, detail-oriented and able to coordinate with internal teams, customers and overseas partners.

• Bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients who can only communicate in Mandarin
